I've listened to Paul Potts's CD over one month, never stop, twice a day.
I did not have this kind of feeling for such a long time.
It brings me back to 29 years ago.
I was just a high school student. I liked music, but what I had was a portable turntable.
My uncle gave it to me. Only two switch on it, one was the power switch, the other was for adjusting volume.
It was very cute one, like a suitcase of 007, only had a 4" speaker.
All records I had were 5 records of Beethoven 9 symphonies.(My aunt gave to me.)
This turntable was not a hifi system, it only made noise from records.
I had no money to buy more records, so I listen these 5 records again and again. Sometimes I needed to place a coin on the head of phonograph to avoid the needle jumped to another track.
But I did really enjoy the music itself. I could remember every melody of these records at that time, even the "click" noise of record.
The music did bring a lot of fun to me.
When I went to senior high school, my father often gave me about 30 NT dollars for lunch while my mother did not cook. That was the price for a regular meal. But I only spent 15 NT dollars for my lunch. And saved the rest money for my classical records. So I could have a new record about every two months.
I listened the record again again till new record came two months after.
That was a wonderful time.
No hifi system, only enjoyed music itself.
I would not forget those happy hours.
When I began to work, I could afford to buy CD and a better HIFI system. But I lost the fun of the music. It seemed very rush to listen the music.
So far till now, I have over one thousand CDs and a not too bad system.
But there is no album could bring me back to the fun of music. Maybe time is changed, maybe I'm too busy for work.
But I still miss my 4" speaker turntable.
Till last month, I got my Paul Potts's album.
That feeling came back. Enjoy a CD again and again, never ending.
Though some one said Paul does not sing so good.
But who cares! I could find the great joy of his music.
Thank God, Paul brings me to those good old day.
I think I will keep on listening this CD till his second album.
